W-SR defeats Crestwood girls’ golf team

CRESCO - Competing in its first meet of the season, the Crestwood girls’ golf team lost to Waverly-Shell Rock, 215-264, on April 4 at the Cresco Country Club.
Emma Jones of W-SR was the medalist with a score of 50, and teammate Kyleigh Lindner was the runner-up at 53.
Crestood scores were as follows: Cameran Moellers 54, Kaiya Holten 56, Jaylianna Pedretti 71, Brooke Schwade 83, Danica Vsetecka 83 and Hope Balk 85.
“We knew it would be a huge learning experience for many of our players who have never been in a high school meet,” Cadet Head Coach Jason Sorenson said. “It was great to get around our course for a full nine holes in decent weather.
“I am proud of our girls playing a sport that requires mental strength and bravery! We now know what things we need to work on, and we will make some adjustments individually,” the coach said.
