TV harriers Blazek, Byrne qualify for State Cross Country Meet

CEDAR RAPIDS - Turkey Valley cross country runners Jalyssa Blazek and Jaycie Bryne both finished in the top 15 individually in the girls’ race at the Class 1A State Qualifier Meet on Oct. 18 to qualify for the State Meet on Oct. 27 in Fort Dodge.
Blazek won gold in the girls’ meet in a time of 19:49.59, and Jaycie Bryne placed 14th in a time of 2:17.68. The Class 1A Girls’ State Meet will begin at 2 p.m. on Oct. 27 at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge.
In the boys’ meet, Isaac Franzen placed 25th for Turkey Valley in a time of 18:57.05. Lucas Scheidel finished 65th in 20:36.17, and Dale Schwamman placed 109th in 22:35.78.
