Turkey Valley grid squad routs Easton Valley

PRESTON - Three fourth quarter touchdowns by the Turkey Valley football team allowed the Trojans to pull away from Easton Valley for a 60-34 win on Friday, Oct. 12.
The win improved TV’s overall record to 7-1 and 4-1 in district play. The Trojans will host Central Elkader on Friday, Oct. 19 during Parents’ Night in the final regular season contest.
“Easton Valley's passing offense created some issues for our defense, but the players did a great job of sticking with the game plan to hold them to their lowest point total of the season,” TV Coach Mark Scott said. “Elliott Dietzenbach had two interceptions with the last one coming at a crucial time to end their momentum on their comeback.
“Billy Swestka had an interception in the end zone to kill another drive for them. He also had three receiving touchdowns. Our front four of Ethan Leibold, Carter Reicks, Dylan Elsbernd and Kannon Leuenberger created problems early for their offense, which allowed us to take an early lead. Offensively, we executed well, but a few penalties put us behind the chains on several drives,” the coach said.
