Three Crestwood girls earn IPSWA basketball honors

 

DES MOINES - The Iowa Print Sports Writers Association (IPSWA) recently announced its first girls’ basketball All-State Team. Teams were selected by print sports writers in Iowa and honor the top 24 high school girls basketball players in each class.
Three Crestwood girls earned IPSWA All-State honors for the 2017-18 season. Senior Shannon Pisney and sophomore Sharon Goodman both earned First Team honors in Class 3A. Senior Ellie Friesen nabbed Second Team honors. Pisney, Goodman and Friesen were also named to the Class 3A All-State Tournament team. The Cadets concluded the season at Class 3A State Champions with a 26-0 record.
Goodman led the Cadets with 518 points (19.9 per game), was first in rebounds with 184, had 17 assists, 19 steals and led the team with 49 blocks. 
Pisney had 514 points (19.8 per game), tallied 30 three-pointers, had 180 rebounds, 80 assists, 58 steals and 14 blocks. Friesen had 315 points, led the team with 62 three-pointers, had 129 rebounds, led the Cadets with 245 assists, was first in steals with 66 and had 10 blocks.
