Slavin, Shea qualify for State Cross Country Meet

DECORAH - Crestwood senior Kendel Slavin and sophomore Kinze Shea both placed in the top 15 individually at the Class 3A State Qualifying Cross Country Meet at Oneota Golf Course in Decorah on Oct. 20 to earn a trip to the State Meet, which will be held on at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 29 at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge.
Shea placed sixth at the State Qualifier meet in a time of 20:07.00 to earn her first trip to State. Slavin finished 14th in 20:37.80 to earn her second trip to State. Slavin also qualified for State as a freshman during the 2018 season.
Tickets for the Girls' State Cross Country Meet can be purchased at www.ighsau.org. Complete results from the State Qualifier Meet will be in the Oct. 27 issue of the Times Plain Dealer.
