Cuvelier nabs football honors at UNI

CEDAR FALLS - Spencer Cuvelier, a 2017 Crestwood graduate who currently plays football for the University of Northern Iowa Panthers, earned National Defensive Player of the Week honors. Cuvelier is a redshirt junior who plays middle linebacker for the Panthers.
During UNI’s 34-16 victory over Sacramento State on Sept. 11, Cuvelier forced six turnovers. He recovered first and third quarter fumbles in Sacramento State territory, including forcing one of the fumbles, to set up the Panthers for touchdown drives. Cuvelier also recorded a game-high 15 tackles, reaching double figures for the tenth time in 19 career games with UNI, which plays in the Missouri Valley Football Conference.
