Crestwood softball team trounces Forest City in first round of regionals

CRESCO - The Crestwood softball team broke open a close game with seven runs in the third inning and added six more in the fourth as the Cadets cruised to a 15-1 win over the Indians in four innings in the first round of the Class 3A Region 6 Tournament on July 6 at home. The Cadets (20-7) will face Waukon (12-18) in the region semifinals on July 9 at Crestwood at 7 p.m. The winner will face either Anamosa (30-9) or Monticello (15-18) in the region final on July 12 at 7 p.m. at a site to be determined.
