Crestwood girls' basketball team nips NH, boys fall to Chickasaws

CRESCO - The Crestwood girls’ and boys’ varsity basketball teams posted a split against New Hampton on Jan. 7 as the Cadet girls’ team edged the Chickasaws, 40-37; and the boys’ team lost to New Hampton, 33-45.
In the back-and-forth girls’ contest, junior Olivia Ollendick nailed the game-winning three-point bucket with 30 seconds left to lift the Cadets to a 40-37 victory.
After playing a close game for three periods, the Cadet boys’ team struggled late as New Hampton closed the game on a 12-5 run in the fourth quarter to earn a 45-33 win over Crestwood on Jan. 7.
