Crestwood boys' basketball team clinches NEIC title

CRESCO - The combination of a Crestwood win on Monday, Feb. 4, and a loss by Waverly-SR on Tuesday, Feb. 5, has allowed the Cadet boys' basketball team to clinch the Northeast Iowa Conference regular season title outright. This marks the fourth time the Cadets have won the NEIC title (2004, 2005, 2009, 2019).

Crestwood crushed New Hampton, 72-42, on Monday to improve to 9-2 in the NEIC. Waverly-SR lost to Charles City, 55-71, on Tuesday to fall to 8-4 in the NEIC. Crestwood will host Oelwein on Thursday, Feb. 7, in the final regular season game. The Cadets will begin play in the Class 2A District 4 Tournament on Thursday, Feb. 14 at 8 p.m. when they host either Osage or North Fayette Valley. The winner of this contest will advance to the District 4 Final on Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. at Charles City.
