CRESCO - Cadet senior Alex Kerian shot an impressive round of 40 to earn medalist honors and help the Crestwood boys’ golf team rout Waukon, 178-203, on April 24 at home.
Taking on the cold, wind and a solid Clayton Ridge team Friday at home, the Cadets competed hard before losing to Clayton Ridge, 173-182.
The Cadets will host Decorah on May 8 and play at the sectional meet in Decorah on May 12.
Cadets beat Waukon
The Cadet boys’ team posted a 178-203 win over Waukon at home on April 24.
Crestwood scores included: Alex Kerian 40 (medalist), Isaiah Passmore 44 (runner-up), Colten Wiley 45, Zeke Church 49, Kristian Szajna 51, Dalton Scheidel 56.
In the JV meet, Crestwood earned a 211-287 victory. Cadet JV scores included: Riley Foote 42, Colby Fye 53, Jarrett Rice 57, Dakota Casper 59, Frank Hrdlicka 60.
“This was not a bad day for us considering a pretty strong wind,” Cadet Coach Lynn McCormick said. “Alex again was medalist with a 40 and Isaiah was runner-up medalist with a 44. Four scores in the 40s is encouraging, but I would like to see some lower scores. It was a nice conference win for us.”
C. Ridge downs Cadets
Clayton Ridge was too strong for the Cadet boys’ golf team Friday at home as the Eagles downed the Cadets, 173-182.
The top four Crestwood scores included: Isaiah Passmore 41 (tie for medalist), Alex Kerian 44, Colten Wiley 48, Justin Reinking 49. Others included: Kristian Szajna 51, Harry Kitchen 51.
Clayton Ridge scores included: Jake Jensen 41 (tie for medalist), Dakota Olson 42, Matthew Klaes 43, Robby Sweers 47.
“This was not the best day for us,” Cadet Coach Lynn McCormick said. “The team score of 182 was a higher score than we would like to see at this time of the year."
