Crestwood baseball team loses to Osage in district tourney

MONONA - An impressive seventh inning rally by the Crestwood baseball team fell short against Osage during the first round of the Class 2A District 6 Tournament on Saturday, July 1 as Osage held on to edge the Cadets, 7-6. Osage advanced to face New Hampton in the district semifinals on July 5 in New Hampton. Crestwood finished the season with a record of 4-22.

During Saturday's contest, Osage took advantage of a few Cadet miscue to take a 7-1 lead after two innings. Crestwood scored two runs in the fifth inning to close the gap to 7-3. In the top of the seventh, Crestwood scored three runs with two outs to narrow the lead to one run before Osage recorded the final out to earn the 7-6 win.
