Crestwood baseball team hammers Oelwein

CRESCO - After taking a 3-1 going into the second inning, the Crestwood varsity baseball team exploded for 12 runs in the bottom of the second on its way to a 19-1 win over Oelwein in four innings on May 28 at home to give the Cadets their first win of the season.
Oelwein grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first before the Cadets scored three runs in the bottom of the first. Carter Henry led off with a trbple and scored on a wild pitch. Hunter Bye and Justin Kerian both drove in one run with a single.
In the bottom of the second, the Cadets erupted for 12 runs on six hits and four walks. Hunter Bye and Landen Bergan each drove in three runs with a double. Ashton McConnell and Reid Wiley each drove in two runs.
