Cresco AAU softball teams earn honors

CRESCO - The Cresco AAU Softball 10 and under and 12 and under teams both earned the Youth 1st Team Award for sportsmanship during a tournament in Saint Charles, Minn. recently. 

At the conclusion of each game, umpires at the tournament voted on playesr conduct, behavior and attitude. Teams were required to score 80 percent or above to receive the award. Both Cresco teams received 100 percent.

During a presentation on July 18 at Evans Park in Cresco, Mark Arjes, Director of Youth 1st, gave awards to all the Cresco players on both the 10 and under and 12 and under teams. 

In addition to receiving the Youth 1st Team Award, the players were also given tickets to attend one of the Youth 1st Nights (Aug. 24 or Aug. 26) at Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins. The Cresco teams, as well as other selected teams, will be recognized during a pregame parade at Target Field.
