Class 2A State Wrestling individual first round pairings released

DES MOINES - The first round pairings for the individual State Wrestling Tournament for Class 2A on Feb. 18 were recently released. Seven Crestwood grapplers will be competing in the individual State Tournament in Des Moines. The Class 2A session begins at 9 a.m. First round matches are as follows.

At 113 pounds, Crestwood freshman Anders Kittelson (26-0) will face Central DeWitt freshman Royce Butt (27-6). Wrestling at 120, Cadet junior Carter Fousek (26-0) will take on Dike-NH senior Dylan Ohrt (21-9). In the 138 pound class, Crestwood sophomore Chase Thomas (18-3) will battle Clarion junior Kale Downey (40-7).

Competing at 152, Crestwood senior Clay Schemmel (21-8) will face North Polk senior Chance Bockenstedt (32-3). Wrestling at 160, Cadet senior Hunter Bye (20-7) will compete against Grinnell senior Landon Kirby (26-4). At 195 pounds, Crestwood senior Landen Schemmel (23-6) will face West Delaware junior Wyatt Voelker (34-0). Wrestling at 220, Crestwood senior Treyton Burnikel (22-2) will take on Emmettsburg senior Jordan Anderson (28-2).
