Decorah dual
Slifka was excited to see the Cadets notch their first conference dual win over Decorah on Dec. 7.
“It’s important to kick off our conference season with a win,” Slifka said. “The fatigue factor was starting to kick in (from all the recent meets), but Nathan Bigalk got a big fall for us right away. Kaden Anderlik had a nice win at 120, and Hunter Fousek won at 126.
“We had a couple kids still out with injuries. I preach to the kids that even if you don’t win, don’t give up six points (by getting pinned). This is the first time in a long time that we didn’t give up a single pin. That alone is a victory for us. Overall, I was pleased with the energy and excitement our kids showed against Decorah,” Slifka said.
