Cadet football team rallies to beat NFV, ready for playoffs

CRESCO - Cadet quarterback Dylan Shelton completed an 11-yard touchdown pass to Ty Cotant with 3:59 left in the fourth quarter to lift the Crestwood football team to a 14-7 win over North Fayette Valley on Thursday, Oct. 12, at home in the regular season finale during a downpour. The win improved Crestwood's overall mark to 3-5 (3-2 in Class 2A District 3) and clinched a spot in the 2023 playoffs. Crestwood (3-5) will face Jesup (5-3) at Jesup on Friday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs. The winner will play on Friday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. in the second round at a site to be determined.
