Cadet cross country girls' team; Juelsgard, Martinek qualify for State

DIKE - The Crestwood girls' cross country team earned first place at the Class 2A State Qualifier Meet at Dike on Oct. 19 with 42 points to punch their ticket to the State Meet. Cadet senior Ellie Friesen nabbed first place in 18:30, Cassidy Ihns was second in 18:57, Hope Dohlman took fourth in 20:04 and Rachel Steffen was 14th in 21:30. Two Crestwood boys, Bryden Juelsgaard and Nathan Martinek, both finished in the top 15 to place individually. Juelsgaard finished 10th in 17:31 and Martinek was 13th in 17:33. The State Meet will be Oct. 28 in Fort Dodge. Complete results from the meet will be in the Oct. 25 Times Plain Dealer.
