CRESCO - Vera Price, age 96, passed away at Evans Memorial Home in Cresco, Iowa on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019 at Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco and again one hour prior to services on Thursday beginning at 10 a.m. at the church.

Vera Martha Price was born on March 26, 1923 in Cresco, the daughter of Fred and Louise (Ratz) Peter. She was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church and graduated from Cresco High School. 

On June 13, 1942, she married Norman Price in California. Vera was surprised with a special gift from him several years into their marriage. He had the Amish build a dining table and four chairs out of red cedar that he had harvested. To this union five children were born. 

Together the couple enjoyed many trips. They spent time fishing and hunting together in Canada and even ventured to Alaska. After Norman passed, Vera continued her travels by enjoying local bus trips. 

She enjoyed putting together Terry Redlin puzzles and playing cards, especially 500. She was a wonderful baker; making applesauce cake and banana bread were just a sample of her many goodies. Vera looked forward to participating in all of the activities and parties during the seven years she resided at Cresco Assisted Living. 

Survivors include her five children, Gary Price of Lime Springs, Iowa, LaVonne (Duane) Beck of Lime Springs, Cheryl Neubauer of Scottsdale, Ariz., Wayne (Barbara) Price of Menlo Park, Calif. and Dean (Diane) Price of Ankeny, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, Tony (Lisa) Price, Matt (Patti) Price, Kelly (Francis) Praska, Kathy (Neil) Martin, Bill (Angie) Beck, Sue Conroy, Dan (Kristin) Neubauer, Jennifer (Matt) Benidt, Logan Price and Michelle Haught; and several great and great-great grandchildren.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman in 1997; granddaughter, Julie Neubauer Wright; great-great-granddaughter, Haidyn Beck; and her five siblings.
