Timothy ‘Tim’ Hyke, 63

CRESCO - Tim Hyke, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021 at his home in Cresco, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Lourdes, Iowa. Visitation will take place at the church two hours prior to the service, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Lindstrom Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. 

Timothy James Hyke was born on Sept. 6, 1958 in New Hampton, Iowa, the son of James and Arlene (Nibaur) Hyke. He grew up in the Lourdes area, where he attended school and later went to high school in Cresco. He married and had to two sons, Jeremy and Justin. 

On Oct. 5, 2002 Tim married Barbara Rosonke at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple enjoyed spending time together taking trips both near and far, or just staying close to home with their dog, Cozee.

In the summer you could find Tim in the garden, raising tomatoes, kohlrabi and a garden full of veggies to share with family and friends. He canned many jars of tomatoes, salsa and pickles over the years. He was a great cook and enjoyed barbequing. He loved to play bean bags and was happy to help organize local bean bag tournaments. He enjoyed fishing and football, and was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. 

There were many camping trips spent with family and friends, telling stories and sharing a beer around the bonfire. Tim liked rock music and attending Rock Fest. AC/DC and ZZ Top were at the top of his list of favorite bands.

Tim loved his family and friends, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barb; son, Jeremy (Roxanne) Hyke; two granddaughters, Ayla and Carys; sisters, Deb (Tim) Riley and Anna (Terry) Ollendieck; and several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and great friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Justin in infancy.
