FORMERLY OF CRESCO - Tamara “Tami” Susan Herold Sharma, age 41, of Arcadia, Calif., died on Dec. 27, 2022, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

A funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Community in South Pasadena, Calif. followed by a Celebration of Life at her home in Arcadia.

Memorials may be directed to Breast Cancer Program, City of Hope, Duarte, CA (ourhope.cityofhope.org), or to a charity of your choice.

Tami was born on Aug. 21, 1981, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Alvin J. and Mary Ellen (Clark) Herold. She graduated from Crestwood High School in Cresco, Iowa, in 1999, and the University of Iowa in 2003. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania in 2007.

She moved to California in 2003, where she met and married Pranav Sharma on May 24, 2008. Two daughters, Marielle and Vivienne, were born to them. 

Tami was a labor and delivery nurse, certified nurse midwife and nurse practitioner at Kaiser Permanente LAMC, White Memorial Hospital and Adventist Health in the Central Valley. In 2018 she became a Professor of Nursing at West Coast University. 

Tami is survived by her husband, Pranav Sharma; daughters, Marielle and Vivienne Sharma; parents, Al and Mary Herold; brothers, Jon, and his wife, Rachael, and Kyle Herold; grandmother, Leona Herold; in-laws, Amit Sharma and Thayer Tomlinson and S. K. and Meenu Sharma; nieces, Madison and Sydney Herold; nephews, Kristopher Herold and Willow and Sorrel Sharma; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, George Herold and Ray A. and Margie Clark; aunts, Sharon Herold and Linda Irvine; and cousin, Justin Irvine.
