Cresco - Ray Praska, age 92, of Cresco, Iowa passed away on Nov. 1, 2018 at Accura HealthCare Center in Cresco.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018, at Notre Dame Parish in Cresco, with Father Dennis Cain officiating. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cresco. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5, 2018 at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Cresco. Visitation will continue from 10-11 a.m. before the service at the church on Tuesday.
Raymond C. Praska was born on May 14, 1926 to Joseph and Emma (Infeld) Praska. He attended a rural country school until the eighth grade. He then farmed with his brother, Edward. In the late 1940s, he met the love of his life, Cecelia Lipa. They were married on April 17, 1950 and blessed with one daughter, Patricia. The couple was married for 68 years. After they retired and moved to Cresco, Ray mowed lawns, a job he loved doing, until he had to give it up due to health problems. He enjoyed listening to old-time music and watching television.
Ray is survived by his wife, Cecelia Praska; his daughter, Patricia (William) Roney; and his niece, Darlene Praska.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Emma Praska; his brother, Edward (Mary) Praska; and an infant sister, Martha.
