Cresco - Randall Spencer Gunhus, age 84, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Evans Memorial Home in Cresco, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Cresco Community Chapel in Cresco. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in New Oregon Cemetery in rural Cresco. Lindstrom Funeral Home is handing the arrangements.
Randall was born Oct. 14, 1933 to Spencer and Dorothy Gunhus, the first of seven children. After serving in the Air Force, he lived the rest of his life in Cresco, where he raised four sons. Known as “Spike” to many, he loved to fish, hunt and trap and had many fish stories to tell whoever may be listening.
He is survived by his sons, Shawn (Lauren) of Pine, Colo., Kim “Charlie” of Cresco and Shane (Amy) of Sparta, Mich.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Donna (Clair) Svestka, Sandra Truax and Judy Aberg.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bryce; his brothers, Maynard and Eugene; and his sister, Sharon.
