WABASHA - John Joe Hirsch, age 69 of Wabasha, Minn., passed away on Dec. 26, 2019 at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center in Wabasha.
A burial service will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lime Springs, Iowa this spring.
He was born on Nov. 9, 1950 to Elmer and Leona (Witt) Hirsch in Waterloo, Iowa. He lived in Lime Springs and graduated from Crestwood (Cresco, Iowa) High School in 1968 and was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served in Germany in 1970.
Among his many jobs, John worked as a carpenter and at the turkey factory for many years in the Cumberland, Wis. area. He enjoyed fishing, listening to music, inventing things and had a keen way to enjoy the ups and downs of his life.
John is survived by his daughters, Julie Hirsch (sons, Owen, Miles and Vincent) of Wabasha and Amber Hirsch (daughter, Kelsey) of Cumberland; stepchildren, Jim Monroe, Patti (Monroe) Kuchaver and Theresa (Reinhart) Hince, all of Wisconsin; and his sister, Joyce (Dr. Don) Lyon of Lime Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jerry Hirsch, Vernon Hirsch and Dixie Posey.
