Jerome Raymond Andrus, of T or C, N. Mex., passed away peacefully on December 26, 2026.
Jerome was born in Lime Springs, Iowa, to Glenn and Mary Andrus on October 28, 1940. He graduated from Crestwood High School. He enlisted in the Army from 1959-1962. He started farming and later met and married Sandra Kupka in 1963, and later divorced.
Jerome attained his AAS degree in AgriBusiness. He was a true salesman throughout his career who knew how to engage Anyone Anywhere Anytime in a sensible conversation. From farm products, insurance, specialty light bulbs, to pest control, ending with his retirement from aerial farm photography sales, traveling all over the country in his RV.
Jerome’s hobbies included the love of animals, especially dogs and parrots. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid card player and gambler at the casinos.
Jerome is survived by his two children, John Andrus (fiance Donna Shampine) of New Bern, N. C., and Suzanne (Dennis) Hyke of Preston, Minn; six grandchildren: Andrew Hyke, and Rachel Hyke of Preston, Minn., Jacob Hyke of Canton, Minn., Isaiah Hyke of Harmony, Minn., Justin Andrus of Decorah, Iowa, and Jaimison Andrus of Boise, Idaho. He is also survived by one sister LaVonne Roethler of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Jerome was preceeded in death by his parents and two brothers, Eugene Andrus and Henry Andrus.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date, with military honors.
