FORMERLY of CRESCO - Janice M. Hennessy (nee Hrdlicka), age 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 7, 2023 in Geneva, Ill.
Funeral services were held privately. A celebration of life is planned for the summer. Donations in her memory to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
Jan was born in New Hampton, Iowa and graduated from Cresco, Iowa area schools. She graduated with teaching credentials from the University of Northern Iowa and worked as a special education teacher for over 35 years in Iowa, Connecticut and East Aurora in Illinois.
Jan was tough, persistent, selfless and had a wonderfully dry sense of humor.
She is survived by her husband, William; daughter, Kate (Jeremy Keen); and grandson Charlie. She was a dear sister to Jerry, Jeff (Rita) and Jack (Tiffany) and is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Madonna Hrdlicka (nee Bouska); her sister, Jane (Brett Hamlett); and sister-in-law, Julie Hrdlicka.
