Formerly of CRESCO - Glenn Vernon Jackson, age 85, formerly of Cresco, Iowa died June 29, 2017 in Burns, Ore.
Graveside services will be 11:15 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017 at New Oregon Cemetery, Cresco. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. at Lindstrom Funeral Home, Cresco.
Glenn was born on Sept. 29, 1931 in Klamath Falls, Ore. to Fredrick Jackson and Anna Storey. He married Dona Jean Young on June 19, 1953 in Reno, Nev. He served in the United States Marine Corps from July 1949 until February 1969.
He and Dona moved to Cresco upon his discharge from the Marine Corps. He worked for the Howard County Sheriff’s Office from December 1974 to February 1979, when they moved to Springfield, Ore. They later moved back to Cresco, where he worked for Donaldson Company until he retired in 1998.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and was an avid reader. He followed football and was a San Francisco 49er’s fan.
He is survived by three daughters, Lisa (Mark) Baethke of Zumbrota, Minn., Kelly (Stephanie Wallace) Jackson of Minneapolis, Minn. and Glenda (Brian) Rudolph of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; a son, Robert Jackson of Klamath Falls; five grandchildren, Hiliary (Jason) Burns of Ames, Iowa, Whitney (Mike) Lougheed of Watkins, Minn., Kyra (Joel) Gifford of Redmond, Wash., Jackson Rudolph and Dawson Rudolph; five great-grandchildren, Madeline, Avery, Leona, Garrison and Henry; and one sister, Edina Walker of Eugene, Ore.; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, three sisters and his wife, Dona.
