Ridgeway - Doris B. Cooley, age 94, died Jan. 4, 2018, at her home in Ridgeway, Iowa.
The funeral will be held Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at 11 a.m., at Peace Lutheran Church of Ridgeway. Burial will be at a later date.
Doris was born in Osage, Iowa to Thorvold and Lotti Synsby on Nov. 29, 1923. She went to Hamilton Business College and worked for Oliver.
Doris met the man of her dreams, Orland (Bud) Cooley from Ventura, Iowa, and married him on May 5, 1943. To this union three children were born, Ronald of Pilot Mound, Minn., Janele of Ridgeway and Curtis (Nancy) of Dekalb, Ill.
Bud and Doris farmed for many years and moved to Ridgeway in 1959. Among other jobs, she worked for Ma Bell, Ridgeway telephone office for over 40 years.
Doris is survived by her three children, 11 grandchildren, three special foster daughters, 24 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, great-grandson, a special foster daughter, sister and brother-in-law and other brothers and sisters-in-law.
