Formerly of CRESCO - Cheryl L. Lockington, age 52, of Mindoro, Wis. passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021 at Gundersen Health System, in La Crosse, Wis.
A Celebration of Life will be held from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021 at the Melrose Rod and Gun Club, Melrose. Memorials are preferred.
Cheryl was born on Dec. 2, 1968 in Cresco, Iowa to Leslie and Coleen (Mattheis) Zapotocny. She graduated with the Crestwood High School Class of 1987and from cosmetology school at Northeast Iowa Community College in 1989. At the time of her death, she was working for United Health Group in La Crosse.
Among Cheryl’s greatest loves in life were four wheeling, camping, sitting around a bonfire and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Todd of Mindoro; son Korey Tewes of Eitzen, Minn.; mother and stepfather Coleen and Virgil Busta of Cresco; siblings, Crystal (Pablo) Marroquin and their son, Christopher of Reseda, Calif. and Jonelle Busta and her children, Isaac, Carla and Amanda of Cresco; step-grandmother, Mildred Mattheis of Des Moines, Iowa; aunts, Joan Bessingpas of Harmony, Minn., Lacey (Darren) Block and her children, Gavin and Amarriannah, and Donita Lockington and her children Elijah, Zan and Massi; and grandpuppy, Scar.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leslie Zapotocny; maternal grandparents, Duane and Christine Mattheis; paternal grandparents, Frank and Minnie Zapotocny; paternal step-grandparents, Alois and Christina Busta; uncles, Denis, Richard and Steven Mattheis and Jon Bessingpas; father-in-law, Donald Lockington; maternal and paternal grandparents- in-law; brother-in-law Ronald Lockington; brother-in-law, Michael Pellowski; and granddaughter, Pixie.
