LIME SPRINGS - Arthur “Art” Lewis Aberly, age 80, of Lime Springs, Iowa, passed away at Colonial Manor in Elma, Iowa on Monday, April 18, 2022.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will take place at the Saratoga Cemetery. Lindstrom Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Art was the son of Lewis and Alice (Stevenson) Aberly. He was born on Aug. 26, 1941 in rural Howard County, near Lime Springs.
He graduated from Cresco High School in 1959. Art married Audrey Bateman, and they later divorced. He was a farmer and cattleman all of his life. He owned and operated the Cresco Livestock Market for more than 20 of those years, all while continuing to farm and raising beef cattle.
Art is survived by his sister, Karen (Gary) Shelstad; nephew, Jeff (Alexi) Shelstad; cousins; and friends.
Greeting him in death were his parents; stillborn sister, Margaret; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
