Follow the ‘Yellow Brick Road’ to Cresco Theatre this weekend!

CRESCO - Get ready for flying monkeys, good and bad witches, a talking Scarecrow (without a brain), ruby slippers, a rusty Tin Man and a “very scared” Lion, as the Wizard of Oz will be coming to town this weekend!
Cresco Community Theater, with the help of numerous volunteers and local actors, have been working extremely hard over the past several months in creating the special production. The play will take place four straight days, offering at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. July 24-26 and on Sunday, July 27, at 2 p.m.
Tickets are going fast and are available for only $15 at CUSB, Cresco Bank & Trust, the Cresco Chamber and the Cresco Theatre & Opera House.
Dave Gosch and Kelly Bartling are heading up the production as co-directors and all involved are “very excited and thrilled” to get this play going, as many are commenting about how well all is flowing and the talent involved.
“This was honestly a Dave idea,” noted Bartling of the upcoming play. “We haven't done a musical with kids since Shrek so it was definitely time.  Plus how could we pass up The Wizard of Oz?”
Gosch added, “Plus, the Wizard of Oz is a classic that can be retold for a new generation. Truly a classic!”
