Dursky chosen as 7-12 principal at H-W

CRESCO - The Howard-Winneshiek Community School District’s Board of Education met on Monday, May 23 to discuss hiring a 7-12 principal.

The 7-12 principal position became available after Chris Rogne accepted the superintendent role at Lake Mills CSD. He has been at How-Winn for seven years.

Board members voted to hire Lisa Dursky, pending a background check. She is from Andrew, Iowa, serving as middle school and high school ELL Instructor at Dubuque Community School District,  Assistant Professor of Education at Clarke University and Online Instructor for VIPKID. 

The other two candidates were Todd Coulter, who is currently the assistant principal and activities director at H-W, and Sarah Tobiason of Decorah, the current elementary principal, district director of special education and district equity coordinator at Decorah Community School District.
