Winner announced for First Baby Contest

The tiny newcomer who will be snagging a stack of prizes and a lot of smiles arrived in Howard County just after New Year’s — a joyful second-born of 2026 Howard County resident who became the TPD “first baby” winner after the actual first family politely declined. 

   Parents Nic and Courtney Rose of Schley, Iowa, welcomed their fourth child, Tritt Elon Rose, on January 2nd at Regional Health Services of Howard County, and will be taking home a bundle of prizes consisting of: $20 in Cresco Dollars by Regional Health Services of Howard County, a gift certificate from Plantpeddler, $25 in Cresco Dollars by CIA Insurance, a baby blanket by O’Henry’s Stitches & Prints, a silver spoon from Holstrom’s, a gift certificate from CUSB Bank, a gift certificate from Sue-Z-Q’s, diapers from Fareway, a gift certificate from Dollar Fresh, and a free 1 year subscription for the Cresco Times Plain Dealer from TPD along with their bundle of joy.
