Decorah - It was a little over three years ago when Cresco lost its Spectrum Thrift Store, and now Decorah is feeling the angst as its store closed on Feb. 23.
Jeannie Barness, Executive Director of The Spectrum Network (TSN) in Decorah, noted 2019 is the 45th year TSN has been in the area. “We thank the community for your support through the contributions to our drop off and to those who have volunteered. Please continue to support those organizations like ours in the community with your donations of goods.”
She went on to say business practices require financial feasibility studies over time to ensure perseverance in an economic environment that is funding-challenged.
“The Spectrum leadership is working to assist or absorb placement of staff, while ensuring that The Spectrum Network remains the trusted provider that you have come to expect. With this, we are focusing our efforts on service quality and building community partnerships, including the startup of The Spectrum Kitchen,” Barness said.
Services at TSN focus on enhancing the quality of life by promoting independence, integration and improving access to opportunities through employment, pre-vocational, day habilitation and supported community living services programs.
