Senior Giving Tree

“Thank you, thank you, thank you!” Times Plain Dealer publisher Dan Evans said to the community for donating items to the TPD’s Senior Giving Tree. “This year is the most donations we have received to give to area nursing homes.”
For the 11th year, the community has pulled together to give items to the area homes (Accura, Country Winds Manor and Evans in Cresco and Elma Colonial Manor).
“Friends and family of our older population have not been able to stop in and see their loved ones, so the community pulled together to make this Christmas of 2021 even more special. We took at least four boxes and several bags of soft items to the nursing homes,” Evans noted.
Sometimes the older generation gets forgotten, but not in Howard County! This is small-town caring at its best.
“The staff at Times Plain Dealer is pleased and humbled to be able to be the go-between to pass on these gifts from the public to the care centers. Christmas really is a time of giving,” Evans concluded.
