New for Snowfest

—Jigsaw Puzzle Competition on Jan. 21
CRESCO - One of the newest events for Snowfest 2023 is a Jigsaw Puzzle Competition.  It will take place on Saturday, Jan. 21 at the Expo Center, starting at 2:30 p.m. Check in begins at 2 p.m.
Driftrunners Snowmobile Club Secretary Brandon Plaht explained the contest. “The puzzle competition is something new we are doing this year for an afternoon activity at Snowfest.  Different breweries around the area have been doing these this past summer and figured it would be something we try out. They have started to become pretty popular in the region.”
The rules are simple, be the first team to complete your jigsaw puzzle to win. Teams will be putting together the same jigsaw puzzle. Everyone starts at the same time and it’s a race to see who can complete it first.
Teams can consist of 2-4 people. Four-person teams are the best. Teams have two hours to complete it or a little more if they are close to being finished.
Prizes are then awarded for first, second and third places, and each team gets to keep its puzzle in the end.
Cost is only $10 per team and must be pre-registered by Jan. 16 to have a spot. The registration link can be found on the Facebook event page under the Driftrunners Snowmobile Club page.
Also taking place on Saturday at the Expo Center are the Boy Scout breakfast 6-11 a.m.; Vintage Sled Show, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.; Chili Cook-Off, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; Bingo, Noon-4 p.m.; and much more. See next week’s paper for more information. These will all take place with snow or no snow.
