NEI3A announces August menu

Waterloo - Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging has its Aug. meals planned. Each meal includes milk. Meals are offered on a contribution basis for people over 60 years of age. Actual cost for the meal is $8.28. People under 60 must pay the actual cost.

Meal locations in Howard County are as follows:

Cresco: Kessel Lodge (268 7th Avenue W.), Monday through Friday - for reservations call 563-379-9737

Protivin: Community Center (103 S. Main Street), Tuesday and Thursday - for reservations call 563-569-8731

Tuesday, Aug. 1: A: Hamburger Patty, Hamburger Bun, German Potato Salad, Green Peas, Ketchup, Peach Pie. B: Potato Crusted Fish, Hamburger Bun, German Potato Salad, Green Peas, Tartar Sauce, Peach Pie.

Wednesday, Aug. 2: A: Chicken Breast with Tomato Basil Sauce, Roasted Potato Medley, Spinach, Lemon Fruited Gelatin. B: Pork Loin with Gravy, Roasted Potato Medley, Spinach, Lemon Fruited Gelatin.

Thursday, Aug. 3: A: Beef & Rice Casserole, Green Peas, Sliced Carrots, Dinner Roll, Margarine, Tropical Fruit. B: Oriental Chicken Salad, Marinated Vegetable Salad, Crackers, Tropical Fruit, Salad Dressing.

Tuesday, Aug. 8: A: Pork with Balsamic Onion Jam, Baked Sweet Potato, Whole Kernel Corn, Multi-Grain Bread, Margarine, Butterscotch Brownie. B: Chicken Breast with Savory Apricot Sauce, Baked Sweet Potato, Whole Kernel Corn, Multi-Grain Bread, Margarine, Butterscotch Brownie.

Wednesday, Aug. 9: Birthday Meal-A: Roast Beef with Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Green Peas, Dinner Roll, Margarine, Frosted Birthday Cake. B: No Alternative.
