CRESCO - The Midwest Mission Bible Training Center, located at 422 2nd St W in Cresco, welcomes the public to attend its numerous events, and is currently busy preparing for its April 1st graduation banquet.
The Midwest Mission Bible Training Center is a non-profit, faith-based 8-10-month-long discipleship center for people with drug, alcohol, or other life-controlling problems.
Midwest Mission Assistant Resident Director Todd Schaeffer and Graduate Staff Shannon Schaeffer discussed the Mission’s upcoming events.
“We are getting ready for our graduation banquet on April 1st, which is open to the public,” Shannon Schaeffer said.
Todd added, “We’re having a catered dinner at the Expo Center at the (Howard County) Fairgrounds, and it starts at 6 p.m.”
He said the Executive Director of Mission Teams Incorporated will speak at the dinner. The public is invited to attend, and those who are interested in purchasing tickets may call the Mission at: 563-547-3286 and ask for Todd or Shannon Schaeffer.
Over the holidays, the Midwest Mission served a free breakfast on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, both open to the public. The residents also put on a talent show over the holidays.
Shannon said Cresco and Howard County residents are supportive of the Mission:
“All of the residents and staff got Christmas gifts due to community support of the ministry,” she said.
Meanwhile, as 2017 begins, the Midwest Mission invites the public to ongoing events.
“We invite anyone from town to stop by every night from 7:30-9 p.m. We have services of worship and teaching. All are welcome to stop by at any time,” Shannon said.
Todd mentioned the Mission’s residents offer to help with odd jobs around town, free of charge.
“If people have any odd jobs where they need assistance, like moving, yard work, or snow removal, we can help. Just call the Mission and ask to talk to Kyle Hill,” he said.
Shannon invites the public to stop by the Mission and take a tour of the building and learn more about their ministry and rehabilitation program.
