Local woman accused of stealing over $20,000

Cresco - Rebecca Sue Creger of Cresco is charged with 1st degree theft, a Class C Felony, and ongoing criminal conduct.
She is accused of stealing over $20,000 from Regional Health Services of Howard County Hospital Auxiliary, of which she was treasurer.
From Jan. 19, 2017-Dec. 22, 2017, Creger admitted she wrote 26 checks out to cash for a total of $20,727 and placed it in her personal account. She told authorities she did it because of ongoing medical bills. The defendant made the comment that she wanted to pay back the amount she took.
Creger’s attorney, Mark B. Anderson filed an Appearance & Waiver of Preliminary Hearing. At a hearing on Monday, April 23, 2018, the case was bound over to district court.
