LIHEAP available

Northeast Iowa - Northeast Iowa Community Action Corporation (NEICAC) Family Service Offices will start taking applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) on Nov. 1, 2018.  
Households that have an annual gross income of 175 percent of poverty, or less may apply – see chart below. If your household applied for LIHEAP in the 2017-2018 LIHEAP program year, you can apply online. Go to our website’s LIHEAP page   http://www.neicac.org/LIHEAP  and look for the “Apply Online” link.

For households with more than eight members, add  $7,560 annually for each additional member.

This program is not designed to pay a household’s total energy costs. The program will provide supplemental assistance based on several factors. Those factors include total household income, household size, dwelling type and type of heating fuel, among others.
