It’s Rockin’ Ridiculous!

Cresco - Get ready to have a “Rockin’” shoppin’ day on Thursday, July 19, when Cresco has its annual sidewalk sales. The theme is . . . you guessed it, Rockin’! Check out all the shops and clerks who decided to dress up for the occasion in pink hair, mohawks, spandex, leather and glitter!

In the past few years, the ridiculous sales were held on Saturday, but due to shopper demands, it was changed back to Thursday.

Most businesses will have in-store and some sidewalk sales from 8 a.m.-3 p.m., with extra savings from 2-3 p.m. In addition, other vendors will be having booths in the downtown area.

Parents! Plan to have the kids attend the Amazing Adventures of Willy the Wooly at the Cresco Methodist Church at 10 a.m. Use the opportunity to shop by yourself, or enjoy a fun show with the kids, performed by Eulenspiegel Puppet Theatre and sponsored by Friends of the Cresco Public Library.

Over the lunch hour, locals and visitors alike are encouraged to bring a lunch to the Howard County Courthouse lawn for some local entertainment. Between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., five-$20 Chamber Dollars will be given away, and winners must be present.
