Cresco - Rita Hart, who is running as lieutenant governor to Fred Hubbell’s Democratic run for governor visited Cresco Public Library on Oct. 24.
A good group of locals joined Hart for a question-and-answer session on issues dear to their hearts. Some closing comments included one from Tony Tremmel, who told Hart, “Thank you for coming. You’ve brought us some enthusiasm.”
Afterward, she summed up her conversation.
“People are concerned about the privatization of Medicaid, especially after having found their friends, families and loved ones will not have proper care.”
Other items discussed was the lack of investment in education over the past few years. “We want to keep people here in Iowa. It has to do with education and investing in our communities. We are trying to keep our kids in Iowa.”
She concluded she was happy to be in Cresco. “I’m enthusiastic about the response we are getting. They recognize what is at stake in this election. They are looking for a needed change.”
