—Get rid of unused meds on April 30
HOWARD COUNTY - In the U.S. there were 100,306 drug overdose deaths from April 2020 to April 2021. Of those deaths 75% were due to Opioids. Howard County’s Prevention 5 substance abuse coalition is partnering with the Howard County Sheriff’s Department for National Drug Take Back Day on April 30th 2022. Bring your unused prescription drugs to:
• Protivin Fire Station 10-10:15 a.m.
• Lime Springs City Hall 10:15-10:30 a.m.
• Chester City Hall 10:45-11 a.m.
• Elma Fire Station 11-11:15 a.m.
• Riceville Fire Station 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
• Howard County Sheriff’s Office Lobby 12-2 p.m.
The medications that are dropped off will be collected and disposed of following DEA guidelines. By taking part in the take back day, you can help prevent those expired or unused medications from getting into the hands of others. Keep them safe. Clean them out. Take them back
