Crestwood High School presents vocal concert Feb. 24

Howard County - Howard-Winneshiek Community School District announces that three choirs from Crestwood High School, featuring students from 9th-12th grades, are preparing to present a concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24 in the High School Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.
Choirs performing include the Concert Choir, Treble Choir and Concert Chorale, as directed by Vocal Music Instructor Karen LeFebvre with Accompanist Kimberly Lehmkuhl.
• Concert Choir will sing “Hush! Somebody’s Callin’ My Name”, “Siyahamba” and “Inscription of Hope”.
• Treble Choir will sing “Johnny One Note”, “Changes” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.
• Concert Chorale will sing “Over the Rainbow”, “For Good”, “It Takes a Village” with Brynn Bodermann and Luke Ishman on percussion and a vocal arrangement of the “William Tell Overture”.
LeFebvre says two ensemble acting groups will also perform at the concert. “These groups earned a Division I rating at State Speech Contest,” she said, noting that Kayla Hruska and Alison Butikofer will perform “Demon Child” while John Ayers and Mitchell Leifeld will perform “Abott and Costello”. “John and Mitchell were also nominated for All-State!”
This concert features a wide variety of music, which should appeal to the entire audience. “We would love to invite everyone to come and spend the evening with us!” LeFebvre said.
