Cresco Library has openings on trustee, foundation boards

CRESCO - The Cresco Public Library is experiencing a dynamic change beginning January 1, 2018. For decades, the Board of Trustees and the Foundation have been one body; as of the beginning of the year, they will become two separate entities.
Two board of trustee positions are open due to transitions to the Cresco Public Library Foundation board.  These positions are slated for City of Cresco residents only and are to fill vacant seats.  The Board of Trustees meets the second Monday of the month at 5 p.m. at the Cresco Public Library in the Program Room.  The library is handicapped accessible.   As a member of the library board, you help set the direction for your public library and the difference it makes in your community.
Stop by or call Cresco City Hall or Cresco Public Library by 12 noon, January 8th, 2018 if interested in serving on the Board of Trustees.  Simply provide your name and a number where you can be easily reached.  The public library director will contact you.
With this transition, one position is still open on the Cresco Public Library Foundation Board.  This group will meet once a quarter, terms are three-year terms with no limit on terms.  Stop by the Cresco Public Library to pick up an application. The Foundation typically has a single purpose: To manage private contributions for the support of the library, often including support for library building projects. If you have an interest in the library Foundation, please call or stop by the library.
