CRESCO - Doug Eagan, as of July 24 of this year, started work as a Cresco Police Officer. Eagan previously worked 21 years in law enforcement in Britt, Iowa and New Hampton, Iowa.
Out of high school, Eagan knew he wanted to help people and ensure their safety. He attempted to enlist in the United States Marines, but due to a pre-existing medical condition, he was unable to move forward with the process. Instead, he turned to a local law enforcement career. Eagan explained that his skills of “working under extreme stress” and the ability to speak spanish would help him protect and serve people in the various communities.
Doug Eagan also has experience in firearm instruction and safety, and will be bringing those skills to Cresco. The Cresco Police Department has “a good crew” states Eagan, who is excited to be a part the department. His goal is to always make sure “people are safe” in all parts of Cresco, and will also be monitoring traffic.
He hopes to bring “compassion,” and “respect and dignity” to the law process and is “a good listener” who looks to get to the root of the problem with no personal judgement. Strictly by the book, Eagan’s friendly demeanor will help create a safe and transparent mediator to complicated or high stress situations.
In their free time, Eagan and his wife, Carissa enjoy spending time with their large family. Together, the family performs in the area, utilizing musical instruments.
Eagan looks forward to becoming a contributing member of the community and getting to know the organizations and businesses, as well as the people in the area.
