Colonial Manor celebrates 40 years

Elma - Colonial Manor of Elma welcomes everyone to celebrate their 40th Anniversary at an Open House on Tuesday, May 15 from 6-8 p.m. In addition to appetizers, cake and refreshments, the Rochester Music Men’s Gambit Barbershop Quartet will be performing at 7 p.m. as part of the celebration.
Colonial Manor of Elma is also excited to participate in the upcoming observance for National Nursing Home Week (NNHW), which will be held May 13-19.
The NNHW 2018 theme, “Celebrating Life’s Stories”, serves as a tribute to life’s most significant events, relationships and experiences that shape the unique perspectives of residents, families, staff, and those in the surrounding communities.
Established as an annual, week-long observance by the American Health Care Association (AHCA) in 1967, NNHW provides an opportunity to recognize the role of skilled nursing care centers in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities.
“We encourage members of the community to come visit Colonial Manor of Elma during National Nursing Home Week,” said Administrator Tasha Steeve. “Whether volunteering to spend time with our residents, or learning more about our services, everyone is welcome to join the Colonial Manor of Elma home story.”
Colonial Manor of Elma invites you to attend the envents scheduled that encapsulate the “Celebrating Life’s Stories” theme:
• “Victrolas”, May 15, 10:00 a.m. – Remembering the pre-CD, tape and LP form of entertainment with displays and examples!
• “A Rising in Northeast Iowa”, May 16, 2:00 p.m. – What was it like for the first settlers in our area, and how did they endure? Find out at this program.
• “A Trip to Israel”, May 17, 2:00 p.m. – Learn about the Holy Land with a recent visitor to this inspirational place.
