Class of 1967 donates statue

—Latest bronze statue is set at the site of the class’ former high school

CRESCO - The Crestwood High School class of 1967 began its 50th class reunion on July 15 with an unveiling ceremony of the 46th Statue of Howard County. It is located at the entrance to the former high school auditorium.
The plaque reads "Crestwood High School Class of 1967 Consolidated Schools of Chester, Cresco, Elma, Lime Springs, Ridgeway."
Class President Denny Linderbaum facilitated the ceremony, which was attended by over 30 alumni.  The successful fund-raising for the statue allowed for an additional donation to the Crestwood Booster Club with classmate Oakleigh Natvig accepting on its behalf.  Alumni and friends then toured their former high school facility, which is now connected to the Cresco Fitness Center.
Of the graduating class of 128, 62 alumni, along with family and friends, former teachers Jane Goldsworthy (Howard) and Dennis Brosdahl (Donna) then gathered at the Featherlite Center at the Howard County Fairgrounds for social time and dinner.  The loss of fourteen class members was memorialized.
Classmates also gathered for Sunday brunch at the Heritage Events Center for a final social opportunity.
The event could not have taken place without the dedication of the committee and/or those attending, which enriched the memories of their high school connections.
