Celebrating MHC Fair with button promotion

Howard County - Did you know this is the 125th anniversary of the Mighty Howard County Fair? Well it is. And to help celebrate, local Cresco Area Chamber of Commerce businesses will be giving deals in their stores from June 1-24!
In addition, the Chamber is giving away three prizes of $125 each in Cresco Chamber Bucks. Get it? One hundred twenty-five years for the Mighty Howard County Fair on June 20-24 and three $125 give-aways.
To sign up for the $125 prizes, just go to a participating business, show your fair button (which are available for sale all over Howard County and beyond) and fill out a registration ticket.
While at the business, check out its Fair Button Promotion. By showing your button, a person can get money off meals or other items and sign up for an in-store promotion or whatever else the business is offering.
In-store promotions are available at Atomic Pizza, Bob’s Electric, Cresco Shopper, Fisk Farm & Home, Holstrom’s Gift & Jewelry, Ruppert’s Ace Hardware and The Pub.
Cresco Library is giving amnesty on a current fine or offering a complimentary book bag.
The Times Plain Dealer is offering $12.50 off a new subscription.
Outdoor’s & More is giving $10 worth of free ammo with a firearm purchase.
Drawings are being held at Elm Street Gifts for mixed garden basket and Furniture Re-Do for a gift certificate.
Sue-Z-Qs is giving a free glass of milk with purchase in honor of the fair, and June is Dairy Month!
Billmyer Furniture will have free delivery — see store for details.
Many stores are advertising a percentage off purchases, including A&W / Long John Silvers, Dasch Mercantile, Leuthold’s, Marti & Company, Plantpeddler, Quilter’s Garden and The Ox & Wren Wine & Spirits.
Get your fair button early to take advantage of all the great deals in honor of the 125th anniversary of the fair. The button costs $30 before the fair or $40 after and gets a person into each of the grandstand events, including ECIPA Sanctioned Truck & Tractor Pull on Wednesday; Stock Car Races on Thursday; Midland on Friday; Oak Ridge Boys on Saturday; and Demo Derby & Tuff Truck Competition on Sunday.
Howard County Business & Tourism Director Jason Passmore said, “We’re doing this promotion to honor the fair and get people to stop at our local businesses. Besides, they don’t call it the Mighty Howard County Fair for nothing!”
