Car versus semi, no injuries

CRESCO - On Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 10:32 a.m., the Howard County Sheriff’s Office received numerous reports of a semi versus vehicle accident at the intersection of V-58/Willow Ave. and A46/150th St (the Protivin Road).
Devon Peterson, age 26, of Madison, Wis. was driving a 2001 Lexus RX300 westbound on A46 when she failed to stop at the intersection with V58. She became aware she was going to be hit and accelerated. She was struck in the back of the driver’s side by Kendall Curtis, age 57, who was driving north in a 2005 Freightliner.
Peterson’s vehicle overturned and rolled into the northwest ditch at the intersection. Neither Peterson nor Curtis were injured.
Peterson was cited for failure to stop at a traffic control device. Her car was totaled, and Curtis’ semi received heavy front-end damage.
Assisting at the scene was Iowa DOT Motor Vehicle Enforcement, Iowa State Patrol, Cresco Fire & Rescue, Regional Health Services of Howard County Ambulance, Cresco Towing & Recovery and Bill’s Towing.
The accident was investigated by Deputy Sheriff Tim Beckman.
