Atomic Pizza celebrates five years

CRESCO - It’s also time to celebrate the Fifth anniversary of Atomic Pizza in Cresco.
Steve and Mimi Stone opened their business on Aug. 16, 2017 and have been going strong ever since. The menu consists of Steve’s own recipe.
He said, “We have expanded our menu to include pan and thin, as well as gluten free pizza options, sandwiches, pastas, desserts and more. We have learned and continue to learn everyday from customers, other business owners, staff, friends and family.”
After purchasing the building, the couple had to come up with a plan. After that, they had they got to work transforming the building. Mimi noted, “We started by taking the building down to the brick and started from scratch. After many long hours and much help from friends and family, our vision came into focus.”
Their advice for anyone starting a new business is to be committed to the plan.
One part of their plan was to go with a mid-century decor. And what happened in the 1950s in the U.S.? Lots of talk of aliens! Mimi said, “The alien mascot is a lot of fun. Our slogan is ‘The Flavors and Service are Outta This World!”
The couple said their favorite part of owning Atomic Pizza is the customers. “The best part of this is all the people we have met and all the friends we have made and our staff is THE BEST!” Just like everywhere else, though, staffing shortages make owning a business difficult.
The Stones try to be as Eco friendly as possible. Steve said, “We have added solar panels to the roof and use biodegradable straws and to-go containers. We just try to do our part in everyday practice.”
The couple added, “Cresco is a cool little town, and we are grateful to be a part of it!”
